Travel within Freiburg
Freiburg’s motto is: "change your means of transport - change your attitude". Buses and trams can get you from A to B quickly, safely and comfortably.

Public Transport in Freiburg
Freiburg has an excellent public transportation network. Every year, Freiburger Verkehrs-AG carries more than 70 million passengers on its tram and bus lines.

There are three fare zones. All destinations reachable with the Freiburger Verkehrs AG require a ticket with Preisstufe 1 (Price level 1). You can purchase a single ticket (=Einzelfahrschein) for EUR 2.10 which is valid within the city limits.

If you want to take a trip outside of Freiburg you can do so using the 3,000 kilometers of track and 90 bus, tram, light rail and rail lines within the "Regio-Verkehrsverbund-Freiburg".

REGIO24 ticket - ideal for tourists
REGIO24 is a 24-hour ticket. It costs EUR 5.30 for one person or EUR 9 for up to 5 people for Zone 1 (within Freiburg city limits). The ticket for one person covers one adult and up to four children under the age of 14. REGIO24 for 5 people can also be used by 2 adults and up to four children under the age of 14. REGIO-24 tickets for Zones 1-3, including Freiburg and the surrounding region, are also available.

Transportation to the venue:
The city of Freiburg is situated in southern Germany near the border triangle of France, Switzerland and Germany. It boasts excellent travel links and can be reached by several airports. It can also be reached comfortably by car or by train:

Freiburg lies on the ICE / IC route Frankfurt – Karlsruhe – Freiburg – Basel and it is only a few steps from the main station in Freiburg to the Congress Center Concert Hall.

Freiburg by plane
Freiburg can be reached via a number of airports:

Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg Airport (EuroAirport)
The EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is located about 60 km south of Freiburg and is the closest airport to Freiburg. It accommodates international scheduled and charter flights. From the airport, Freiburg can be reached directly by the Airport Bus operated by the “Freiburger Reisedienst” (“Freiburg travel service”), which leaves from French (=“Frankreich”) side, direct in front of the airport building (arrival level). There is also train connection available from the Basel railway station (SBB) to Freiburg.

Strasbourg Airport (Aèroport international Strasbourg)
Strasbourg Airport is located about 60 km north-west of Freiburg just south of Strasbourg (near Entzheim). From the airport, Freiburg can be reached by public transport by taking the shuttle train from the airport to the main train station and then the train to Freiburg (via Offenburg and Kehl). You can travel to Freiburg by car via national roads in France and the A5 motorway.

Karlsruhe-Baden Airport (Baden-Airpark)
The Karlsruhe-Baden airport is located about 100 km north of Freiburg between Baden-Baden and Karlsruhe. From the airport, Freiburg can be reached via a shuttle bus or by public transport by taking a bus to Baden-Baden, Karlsruhe or Rastatt and then taking the train to Freiburg. By car you can travel to Freiburg via the A5 Motorway

Zurich Airport
Zurich Airport is located about 150 km south of Freiburg. From the airport, Freiburg can be reached by public transport by taking a regional train from the airport to Zurich main station and then taking the ICE train to Freiburg main station.
By car you can reach Freiburg via the A3 motorway to Basel and then the A5 motorway to Freiburg.

Stuttgart Airport
Stuttgart Airport is located about 200 km away from Freiburg. From the airport, Freiburg can be reached by taking the regional train to Stuttgart main station and from there the train to Freiburg (via Karlsruhe). By car you can reach Freiburg via the A8 motorway to Kalsruhe and then the A5 motorway to Freiburg.

Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt Airport is located about 270 km north of Freiburg. From the airport, Freiburg can easily be reached by public transport with an ICE connection from Frankfurt Airport to the Freiburg main station in about 2 hours.
By car you can reach Freiburg via the A5 motorway.


Freiburg by car
Driving on the Rhine Valley Motorway A5 Frankfurt to Basel, leave the autobahn at exit „Freiburg-Mitte“ and follow “Freiburg/Titisee-Neustadt”. You are now driving on the B31 freeway, leading you directly to the city center of Freiburg.
If you approach Freiburg from A81 Stuttgart to Singen or on the B31 (going through the Höllental valley), Donaueschingen, Titisee-Neustadt, you will reach Freiburg on the road called “Schwarzwaldstrasse”. Follow the road which leads towards the motorway A5, then take the exit “Merzhausen/Hauptbahnhof” (”Merzhausen/main station”) to the city center.
